Welcome to Flourish Groups

A way to personally customize your mental health care plan for results

Mental health is an ongoing process not just a recovery process.  Healing a mental health condition is a more specialized process, guided by a trained professional, but mental health flourishing is the result of many small choices made about how you relate to yourself and the people you are in relationship with. Flourishing mental health is a necessary ingredient for the healing process in the similar way that an exercise coach supports someone recovering from a heart condition.

Mental Health Flourishing is a continuum of well being marked by varying degrees of life satisfaction, social connection, mental capacity and engagement.   The absence of flourishing in all 5 categories is called languishing.   People often seek counseling when they are languishing and wounded.  The absence of flourishing often interferes with deep healing opportunities that modern counseling can provide.   Therefore, people can spend a lot of time in therapy supporting their daily flourishing without getting to the deep healing that is possible.  Actively supporting Mental Flourishing can make room for deeper healing to occur.  (“Languishing” C. Learn. Practice. Apply. Mental Wellness Skills

While these groups offer profound insight, they are designed for personal growth rather than clinical treatment. Instead of focusing on diagnoses or the reduction of symptoms, we emphasize expanding your perspective and sharpening your skills in self-awareness. Our goal is to provide a structured yet lighthearted environment that is affordable, safe, and inclusive of individuals from all backgrounds.

Every group is centered on Self-Leadership, the core concept of Internal Family Systems (IFS). By strengthening this inner leadership, participants often find they have a greater capacity to deepen their own spiritual lives. The practical skills used in Flourish groups are grounded in the frameworks of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO).

Jennifer specializes in the integration of spiritual health and psychological wellness. She has achieved advanced training in IFS Healing Circles with Chris Burris and Level 2 training in IFIO, a specialized IFS model for couples. While she brings deep experience and a personal foundation in Christian spirituality, she warmly welcomes and honors all religious or spiritual paths. She views your personal beliefs as a vital, respected resource in your journey toward health and wholeness, ensuring a space where every individual’s tradition is held with care.

Deep psychological healing is often interrupted by dealing with daily life stressors. Small investments in flourishing maximize one on one counseling.

Therapist Designed Group Experiences
FAQs

Do I need to be in therapy to join?

No. These groups are open to anyone who are curious and confidently seeking dynamic growth.  They have therapeutic benefits but are not therapy groups.

Are these groups religious?

No, but they honor the role religion or spirituality may play in someone’s growth. They include opportunities to explore how to integrate one’s spiritual practices.

What’s the difference between this and group therapy?

These are therapist design group experiences, not clinical therapy groups. They focus on improving health rather than reducing symptoms, and on discovering possibilities rather than solving problems. Sessions are designed for experiential learning, high autonomy, and structured, supportive interactions.

  • Topics of Focus Groups:

  • IFS and Christian Spirituality

  • IFS and Relationship Repair with Christian Perspective

  • The New Self Talk

  • Self Led Leadership

  • Introduction to Non-Violent Communication

  • Introduction to Intimacy from the Inside Out

What You Can Expect

Focus Flourish Groups are built for people who want to keep growing in their personal and professional lives. They are perfect for therapists, coaches, business leaders, teachers, clergy, and anyone interested in specific wellness topics. Unlike regular workshops or one-on-one therapy, these groups connect people to themselves and to each other, to learn, talk, and practice modern mental health skills.
In these sessions, a therapist will guide you through relevant and repeatable exercises using IFS (Internal Family Systems) and NVC (Nonviolent Communication). You will get personal coaching, learn how to give and receive Self led feedback, gain insight about yourself as others learn alongside you.  Because of Self leadership, It is a safe, friendly community where you can deeply understand emotional health, improve your relationships, and sharpen your self-awareness—whether you are currently in individual therapy or not.

Why Experiential Learning?

Real transformation happens through practice—not simply through understanding.

Focus Flourish Groups gives context to the process and soft skills used in deeper therapeutic work while creating a space where participants can safely explore, experiment, and learn in community.

Rather than telling participants what to do, Jennifer helps them discover how their own psychological system works so that growth becomes sustainable long after the group ends.

Continue Growing

Whether you're looking to strengthen your leadership, improve your relationships, expand your therapeutic skills, or simply invest in your own flourishing, Focus Flourish Groups provide an intentional next step in your growth journey.

Flourish groups are a great introduction to IFS/NVC models of therapy and Jennifer’s professional style.

Flourish groups use the Jennifer’s Shared Community Pricing Initiative which promotes an inclusive, economic approach to group learning.  With Shared Community Pricing, the total cost is shared across the participating community, allowing people to participate in every season of life.  This initiative encourages participants to contribute according to their available resources, more when they have more and less when they have less. How It Works Instead of a fixed price, this model asks you to be mindful of your own situation. Often, people sign up for things without thinking about the true cost or what they will get out of it. My goal is to make sure your investment really leads to "flourishing" for you and the community. The Roles: The Provider (Jennifer Massey): I promise to be clear and honest about what it costs to run these groups and how much money we collect. The Participant (You): I invite you to look at your own needs and resources to decide what you can honestly contribute. Choosing Your Investment Choose one of three payment tiers: Supportive Cost: You pay the break-even rate plus an extra amount to help cover someone else who might have fewer resources. Median Cost: You pay the "break-even" amount, which covers the basic costs of the program. Practical Cost: You pay between 50% and 99% of the median cost, based on what your resources will comfortably allow. Community Transparency I will track all the funds for each group. If we don’t raise enough, I will look for other community resources to fill the gap or redesign the Flourish group to meet the needs of the community. If we make extra money, I will reinvest it into more mental health education and future groups.
